Tyler’s second SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team contemporary paranormal romance (after Hungry like the Wolf) delivers scorching heat and sensual spark, with a strong heroine as unusual as her name. Khaki Blake was shot trying to save a woman’s life. Khaki isn’t quite sure what’s going on with her body, but she knows her bullet holes aren’t supposed to heal as fast as they do. Then she learns she’s a werewolf. She’s so desperate to escape her vindictive, clingy ex that she’s willing to be the only female member of the Dallas, Tex., SWAT division, led by Xander Riggs. Xander is certain the werewolf legend about finding “the One” is just a myth—until he catches a whiff of Khaki’s scent. Threat of discovery and the drive to protect the city from serial bank robbers ratchet up the suspense, as Khaki and Xander’s heat shimmers. Hints of humor temper the steamy scenes, which combine with richly detailed characters to elevate the novel to a must-read. Agent: Bob Mecoy, Bob Mecoy Literary Agency.

Tyler's second installment of her SWAT series, following Hungry like the Wolf (2015), is incredibly good fun. The Dallas SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) team, secretly composed entirely of werewolves, is faster and stronger than any Special Forces unit aroundthey can heal fast, see in the dark, and track scents better than any beagle. This tale begins when the city council insists that, for PR reasons, SWAT adds a woman to the team. Initially, this doesn't go over well until they find recently changed Khaki Blake, a werewolf-cop only too ready to leave her terrible ex-boyfriend and join people like her. Khaki fits in immediately, impressing the pack with her agility, speed, and superb noseshe can remember every scent she's ever smelled, something that comes in handy more than once as the SWAT team chases down criminal after criminal. Tyler superbly builds a world of werewolf transformations and pack camaraderie, one that is refreshingly gender-blind and 100 percent woman-power. With a steamy and forbidden love affair to boot, Wolf Trouble is about as good as it gets. A great sequel for returning fans, or a perfect starting place for readers new to Tyler's SWAT team.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2015, American Library Association.)
