Supportive and villainous secondary characters alike add richness to make this a delicious, immersive page-turner.

Chante and Zach end up at the same Charleston, South Carolina, resort to hide from their infamous exes and the media in this sexy sequel to Rumor Has It (2015). She throws a drink at him during their first meeting, and he goes to her door with a quiche to ask forgiveness, sparking what they think is a vacation flirtation. It gets complicated when Chante's controlling mom thinks they are engaged and their notorious exes return to interfere with their lives. Hodges gives readers two strong, smart characters in Chante and Zach, who have paid long enough for their bad choices and are rewarded with an intense love affair. The chemistry and sex scenes sizzle. The exes are over-the-top villains who bring a crazy, violent twist at the end, enriching the love story.
