Patricia Williams is both a regular contributor to the THE VILLAGE VOICE and a law professor at Columbia University. Using the idea of a house as a metaphor for her life, Williams presents each memory as a distinct chapter and room. Sharon Washington's beautiful speaking voice is wasted in this production. Some wonderful stories sound like classroom lectures, and very monotonous and boring ones at that! In one story Williams describes how her prose is miraculously brought to life when she collaborates with a jazz musician. His music would have worked wonders here. P.R.
