This is an anthology of 65 garden-themed literary selections from both great writers who loved gardening (e.g., Alexander Pope and Jane Austen) and great gardeners who waxed poetic on the subject (e.g., Gertrude Jekyll and William Robinson). Ten British actors read the selections in a crisp, clear, and professional manner. Their nicely modulated voices suit the tone and mood of the pieces--whose themes range from love (both of gardens and in gardens) to practical gardening matters--and are complemented by well-selected, unobtrusive background music. It would have been nice, however, if the actors had introduced themselves prior to reading each selection. An appealing choice for those interested in literature, poetry, and gardening.--Laurie Selwyn, formerly with Grayson Cty. Law Lib., Sherman, TX
