When LOST team members Victoria and Wade investigate a missing person case, it soon gets personal. Five years ago, Worthington University student Kennedy Lane disappeared on a run, never to be seen again. Needing closure before he can move on, her boyfriend hires the Last Option Search Team to try to find out what happened to her. When forensic anthropologist Victoria Palmer and investigator Wade Monroe get to Savannah to investigate, they discover another student has disappeared, and both women had connections to the same professor. As they're investigating leads, Kennedy's body turns up, clearly moved from a spot where she'd been buried to the running trail where she disappeared. As the team shifts from Kennedy's murder to Melissa's disappearance in the hope they can rescue her, the case takes an alarming turn: the killer contacts Victoria, intimating he knows her deepest, darkest secrets and threatening to make her his next victim. Wade and Victoria have been playing a dance of attraction for some time now and have only recently given in to their desire, which Victoria considers a no-strings-attached fling, though Wade has other, more long-term plans. He almost lost her in their last investigation, and he has no intention of letting her go, especially not in to the hands of a sadistic killer. As the two work to solve the mystery, they realize that more than one person might be behind the vile abductions. But just when there seem to be answers to the case and they can see a future together, an unexpected tie to Victoria's past threatens everything. Eden's pace and storytelling are swift and compelling, while the taut mystery keeps the reader fully invested from Page 1, only heightening the romantic and sexual tension between Victoria and Wade. A smart, gripping romantic-suspense novel that combines an intense love story with an edgy thriller.
