Petersen's cute and gory sequel to September 2010's Married with Zombies finds now-reconciled David and Sarah forming a zombie-fighting business in the infested Arizona wastelands. Dr. Kevin Barnes, a handsome research scientist, hires them to capture a "live" zombie, offering the hope of a cure for the zombie plague as well as a potential romantic temptation for Sarah. Adding to the mix are rumors of a new breed of faster, more intelligent zombies, as well as the appearance of Robbie, an 11-year-old smart aleck who helps bag a zombie and then demands a cut of the pay. Chapters are headed with postapocalyptic business tips ("Dress for success. Also arm yourself for it"), and Petersen throws in copious amounts of gore and action en route to the unsurprising ending, which nicely wraps up the immediate story while setting up book three.
