Jenny Tate is a New York wedding gown designer who is so amicably divorced from a decent, kind man that she's still friends with him and his beautiful new wife. But after she delivers the couple's first child at their baby shower, Jenny realizes that she's doomed to watch what was to be her fairy-tale life unfold before her unless she makes some changes. So Jenny moves back to her hometown to be closer to her sister, Rachel, and triplet nieces. When Rachel discovers a titillating text message on her husband's phone, he denies any wrongdoing, but Rachel's intuition compels her to discover the truth. Meanwhile, Jenny is in a new relationship with a man who has a dark past and has declared himself "for recreation only." She must decide if she can risk her heart again. Xe Sands as Jenny has the perfect funny, light, melancholy, and snarky tones for everything going on in Jenny's life. Amy Rubinate's Rachel comes across as a bit robotic, though that's in keeping with the character's desire for everything to be perfect. VERDICT Recommended for fans of the author and women's fiction with a focus on sibling relationships.
