Rebel Queen

Narrator Sneha Mathan shines as she performs this story of mid-nineteenth-century conflict between the British Empire and the kingdoms of India. The story is told from the perspective of Sita, a companion and soldier of Queen Lakshmi of the Kingdom of Jhansi. Most of Mathan's skill is used to flesh out Sita's story and personality, helping the listener to connect deeply with Moran's complex and fascinating character. Mathan also brings to life the other members of Queen Lakshmi's inner circle, making the temperaments and motivations of each apparent.
