The Dead Pass

Adam Moore continues as the voice of P.I. Dan Starkey in Bateman's tenth of the series. This time around, Starkey picks up an unexpected stowaway on a trip to Londonderry to investigate a missing persons case. Listeners familiar with the series should find the continuity pleasing, but new listeners may discover Moore's narration to have some sharp corners. This is especially evident at times when an awkward silence divides a single thought--as though Moore is turning a page without realizing the sentence continues. Bateman's screwball humor is also downplayed in Moore's narrative approach.
