Lone Star Cafe

Laura Draper, a classic workaholic, goes to Texas to help her father cope with her mother's recent death and to jump start a new slick magazine. Detouring down a rural road, Laura is blindsided by a call from her boyfriend, who dumps her, and then experiences a hailstorm. When she surfaces, she stumbles into the Lone Star Cafe, changing her life forever. Johanna Parker uses subtle Texas accents juxtaposed with broader Eastern pronunciation, thus differentiating between Laura's life before and after.
