Barbara Rosenblat once again demonstrates her well-earned reputation for being a top-notch narrator as she reunites listeners with proper Edwina and adventurous Beryl. When the 1921 census forms are stolen amid a rash of local thefts, the detective agency run by the pair of friends gets a call. Then two cases merge when the women's new assistant gardener is arrested for the murder of the local magistrate. In the capable hands of Rosenblat, listeners clearly picture the vivid distinctions between the two women. Rosenblat breathes life into each character, no matter how minor.
