Lady Grace Walsingham has come to Scotland to see her eldest sister wed. Sparks fly between her and Fagan Murray, Highlander and captain of the guard. Justine Eyre does not enhance this story with her narration. The female characters are easy enough to distinguish as there aren't that many of them. But it can be difficult to tell the multitude of males apart; other than the two main leads, they sound indistinguishable. Shrill voices used for the two children also detract from what is intended to be an amusing plot. K.M.P. © AudioFile 2015, Portland, Maine

In My Highland Spy, Lady Ravenna Walsingham, an English spy, paired off with Laird Ruairi Sutherland. Her marriage leaves a vacancy that her sister, Grace, tries to fill, but Grace soon learns that spying is a career path not undertaken lightly, no matter how exciting and important it seems. Her harshest critic is Fagan Murray, Laird Sutherland’s captain, who despairs of her indiscreet words and her terrible aim with a knife. In a classic story of disdain leading to love, Fagan and Grace’s banter strengthens their connection, and as Fagan escorts Grace back to England on a trail rife with mercenaries and British troops, she begins to wonder why she ever thought she could settle for an Englishman when there’s a very fine Scot to be had. Grace and Fagan make visiting the Highlands worth the trip. Jill Marsal, Marsal Lyon Literary Agency.
