As far as Sophia Hart is concerned, a promise is a promise. Sophia promised her father on his deathbed that she would marry a nobleman, and that is exactly what Sophia intends on doing until she bumps into Matson Brentwood. While Sophia has more than her share of suitable beaus, none of them has captured her heart quite like the totally unsuitable Matson. The most infamous rogue in society, Matson doesn't have a title or even the hope of inheriting one. Even worse, Matson and his family have been engaged in a long-running feud with Sophia's guardian, Sir Randolph Gibson.
