In bestseller Skye's thrilling third Code Name romance (after Code Name: Princess
), gorgeous dog trainer Kit O'Halloran works under government contract at her New Mexico ranch with four genetically enhanced black Labradors that, unknown to her, are worth millions to outside forces as well as to U.S. covert operations. Navy SEAL Wolfe Houston arrives to protect Kit and her canine charges, including Baby, the book's most endearing character. As it happens, Kit has known Wolfe from childhood, and her long-standing secret crush makes for a highly charged reunion. Wolfe's own biotech enhancements only intensify their red-hot sex. Meanwhile, Wolfe's former colleague Gabriel Enrique Cruz has escaped from an experimental government lab, where he was treated like an animal, and all hell breaks loose. The pat finish is a bit of a letdown, but fans should eagerly await the next in the series.

Skye continues her Code Name series in fine form. Kit O'Holloran lives a lonely and solitary life on a small New Mexico ranch where she trains service dogs. Navy SEAL Wolfe Houston, who had been taken in by her family as a homeless teen, blows his secret surveillance of Kit and her very special genetically enhanced dogs to protect her from a couple of guys who claim to be looking for lost treasure. Foreign powers and a deranged former SEAL know about the dogs' enhanced abilities, and neither they nor Kit are safe. It is up to Wolfe, who is worried about the side effects of his own enhancements, and Izzy Teague, the gorgeous techno-geek SEAL, to keep trouble at bay. Meanwhile, love slips in. Readers will enjoy the fast-paced, adventurous plot, and the wonderful dogs. The secret unit of men biologically enhanced for paranormal powers within the navy will appeal to fans of Christine Feehan's Mind series.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2005, American Library Association.)
