This autobiography is the story of Curt Messex's third mission as a transport pilot during the Vietnam War. In the early chapters we're introduced to the pilot's family, but the transport and rescue missions make up the heart of the book. Kevin Foley catches the feel of light banter among the seasoned crew members during uneventful missions and the extreme tension during a night drop of ammunition to an unlit Army camp. Minimal contact with the control tower during the mission captures the precise verbal restraint. No sound effects mar the excellent presentation.
