British author Arlidge’s exciting second crime thriller featuring Det. Insp. Helen Grace of the Southampton Central Police Station (after 2014’s Eeny Meeny) finds Helen struggling with the fallout from her previous case, in which a serial killer had a close connection to Helen and a police friend of hers sacrificed his life to save another officer. Once again, Helen is besieged by hostile newspaper reporter Emilia Garanita, who persists in exposing Helen’s secret personal life. To make matters worse, her new boss, Det. Supt.
