The second in the series featuring gluten-free baker Toni Holmes ties in current and cold-case murders. Toni is busy getting a float ready for Homer Everett Day, Oiltop, Kansas' annual Thanksgiving event, when her feisty grandma becomes a suspect in the murder of a woman with connections to Homer Everett and a decades-old murder. Taking time away from holiday pie baking, Toni races to the aid of grandma, even breaking into the courthouse to have a look at records with a bearing on the case.
