Now they're all grown up, and it's time to pursue her own dreams, and maybe a fling with her dream player is a step in the right direction. After all, Finn isn't a forever kind of guy, which is OK, because Eva is making some big plans that include total professional reinvention and a move across the country. Except maybe Finn is a forever kind of guy for the right girl, while Eva is too willing to let fear get in the way of her own happiness. Author Scott continues her New York Saints series with another hit and the same compelling romance we've come to expect. Finn and Eva practically scorch the pages with sexual tension, and the well-drawn main and secondary characters flesh out an interesting minor league baseball community, though Eva's stubborn adherence to a path that no longer makes sense gets slightly tedious. It was only a matter of time before bad-boy Finn Castro's off-the-diamond shenanigans did him in. Now, a serious bar fight results in his being sent down from the New York Saints to the minor league Saratoga Springs Preachers, and he knows he must hew to the straight and narrow--no drunken brawls and no scandal--if he ever wants to get back to the majors. He also knows that gorgeous Eva Harlowe, the Preachers' administrative manager, is strictly off-limits. Yet attraction flares between them, and it's going to be hard to keep things platonic, especially since Eva feels the same way. With plenty of baseball and secondary character action for texture. VERDICT Scott has delivered another fast-moving, rather sexy, friend-and-family-rich romance that keeps the pages turning and the series on track. Fans and new readers will relish this one.
