The eighth inspirational tale in VanLiere's "Christmas Hope" series (The Christmas Note) is full of heartache and promise. Jennifer and Ryan are single parents, each with a young daughter. When Ryan's Aunt Gloria and her friend Miriam are roped into staging the annual church Nativity play, they soon solicit family, friends, and strangers to participate, bringing Jennifer and Ryan together. Trying to overcome their painful pasts and find some holiday spirit will be a challenge, and they're not the only ones in town with difficult decisions to make. By Christmas, happy endings and beginnings are in sight. VERDICT Get out your handkerchiefs. VanLiere touchingly induces Christmas spirit and tears that will satisfy her many readers.
