Van Vlack (CEO & cofounder, automated HR management firm Fizzmint) is a tech developer, entrepreneur, and social scientist who has an understanding of what it takes to be a successful woman in tech. This book, initially supported with Kickstarter funds, is written for women currently working in the field and those desiring such a career. Van Vlack evenhandedly addresses the practicalities of the profession, translating the male-centric culture, and suggesting aspects of the present environment that need to change. The book covers writing an effective resume, preparing for an interview, understanding the salary negotiation process, on-the-job communication, networking, mentorship, starting your own company, and navigating family and caregiving responsibilities.
