Taylor (cofounder, Fast Company magazine; Practically Radical) examines a number of organizations that he thinks are providing extraordinarily innovative customer experiences. Each company discussed is quite distinct, and the profiles are often engaging and thought provoking. Taylor tries his best to operationalize imagination, inspiration, and insight, and hence to draw lessons, though, in his epilog that poses eight questions, for example, "Are you prepared to rethink the conventions of success in your field and the logic of your success as a leader?" he warns against complacency but provides no practical guidance on how such rethinking can be bold without being reckless. It's hard to say whether or not Taylor's ideas will accomplish what to this reviewer seems impossible, as the book makes many promises. VERDICT Taylor creates absorbing portraits of successful organizations, which may prove a source of inspiration to managers, especially entrepreneurs.--Shmuel Ben-Gad, Gelman Lib., George Washington Univ., Washington, DC
